Mission Statement

To address the food security needs of our community in a compassionate, respectful, and safe environment.

Vision Statement

To empower our community in their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Who We Are

Since 1995, Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry (CCFP) has reliably served those facing food insecurity in a respectful and compassionate environment. Food Pantry clients are welcomed to Covenant Cupboard as guests.

CCFP is a completely volunteer-run organization, which means the organization's annual budget is totally devoted to food pantry operations: food purchases, supplies, rent, transportation, and maintaining our resources. The longevity and evolution of the food pantry is made possible through the valuable support of roughly 50 volunteers each week, as well as several community organizations dedicated to these efforts.

History

When Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry first opened its doors in October 1995, it served food to 3 clients. Three years later the number of clients climbed to 11. Ten years later, Covenant Cupboard served around 75 families per week, and in 2025 Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry served approximately 160 clients each week.

Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry (CCFP) began as a mission project of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant (PCOC). At that time, Arapahoe County was seeking community partners to assist with its mandate to provide federally funded food to low-income families. PCOC answered that call with a small group of volunteers for several years. As the need grew, other neighborhood churches joined. In 2004, a formal, all-volunteer Board of Directors was formed, and By-Laws and a Mission statement were written. Good Shepherd Episcopal, Saint Peter Lutheran and Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Churches have joined with Covenant Presbyterian DTC (formerly known as Presbyterian Church of the Covenant), which remains actively involved with leadership, volunteer, and financial support for the cupboard. In 2023, CCFP became a separate 501(c)(3) organization, and the pantry rents space from Covenant Presbyterian DTC to store and distribute food.
